Hi, my name is Christi, and I am a Love and Logic parent. I first started our parenting group for support and friendship in a new town. I have always felt that it takes a village to raise a child, and that children are too precious to parent by trial and error.
I began by calling two of my friends and asking them if they knew anyone that would be interested in a Love and Logic parenting group. They then called a few of their friends and we quickly had six couples, dedicated to making our group a wonderful parenting resource for those involved. As word caught on about what we were doing, we were asked by United Way, if we would share our idea with the community. This method of parents teaching parents is the best, because we are all in it together. It is also great because it is affordable (eliminating expensive tuition for similar classes taught through the community) and flexible (we make our group work around our schedules).
We are raising the parenting expectations in our community and we are standing as one to do so. Every child matters, and every child should have a parent with the skills needed to raise them to be respectful, law abiding citizens. Believe in yourself and your child and great things will happen as you apply these Love and Logic tools in your home.
